“Indonesia-China Solidarity Against COVID-19”


Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia, the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Jakarta and China Public Diplomacy Association are in cooperation once again to bring back the Halo China video competition in the year 2021! This year, the competition will focus on the theme, “Indonesia-China Solidarity Against COVID-19.”

In light of this year’s theme, each video submission should span within 1 to 3 minutes and should consist of your personal stories, songs, poems, or information. Example videos could be about Indonesia-China relations; Vaccine cooperation; Medical aid; Economic recovery; Chinese investment; People-to-people ties; Hopes and aspirations for the future; etc.




Competition Timeline

20 June – 30 August 2021: Video Submission

1 September – 19 September: Top 21 Judging Process

20 September – 26 September: Fan Favorite Contest

27 September: Virtual Ceremony & Winner Announcement




Participant Guidelines

  1. Fill out the registration form at .
  2. Create your video.
  3. Upload your video to Google Drive.
  4. Add the link to your video to the registration form (you can check your email inbox to edit your previous response).
  5. Judges Selection Process.
  6. Winner Announcement.



Submission Criteria

  • Participants must fill in the registration form at , and attach the Google Drive link to your submission video. (You can register first and add the link to your video at a later time).
  • Videos may be submitted by an individual or group. There is no limit to the number of people per submission video.
  • Each submission must include a copy of the participant’s active National ID Card (KTP) or passport.
  • Submitted video must be an original work and do not infringe any party’s intellectual property rights.
  • Video must be in Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, or English, with translation subtitles.
  • Video must be no less than 1:00 minute and must not exceed 3:00 minutes.
  • Video resolution should not be less than 480P.
  • Video must not include anti-religious, racial, violent, or pornographic content. No offensive or sensitive content is allowed.



Topics to be Raised

In light of the theme “Indonesia-China Solidarity Against COVID-19,” your videos may discuss the friendship and bilateral relations of the two countries, share your personal stories, create special songs or poems, or make a descriptive informational video. The videos may raise the following topics:

  • Indonesia-China bilateral relations;
  • Vaccine cooperation;
  • Medical aid; 
  • Economic recovery;
  • Chinese investment;
  • People-to-people ties;
  • Hopes and aspirations for the future;
  • Etc.



Prizes

Winners of the Halo China video competition will receive cash prizes and an official certificate as a token of appreciation. The cash prizes will amount to a total of IDR 175,000,000.

Fan Favorite

The Fan Favorite winner will be chosen from among the 21 finalists and will be determined by the total number of likes on his/her/their submission video on the @chinaembassy_indonesia Instagram page. The Fan Favorite contest will take place from 20 September to 26 September 2021. The post with the most likes by the end of 26 September 2021 at 23:59 WIB will be chosen as the Fan Favorite winner. Stay tuned on the Chinese Embassy’s Instagram page to vote for your video! (*Buying likes for the fan favorite contest will be tracked, and will not be tolerated.)  




Lucky Winner

In order to win the Lucky Winner prize, you must like, comment, and mention 3 of your friends with the hashtag #HaloChina2021, on the “Lucky Winner” post that will be posted on @chinaembassy_indonesia Instagram page.

50 Lucky Winners will be chosen randomly at the end of the Halo China 2021 competition, and will be given special goodie bags consisting of cool merchandise from the Chinese Embassy in Jakarta.

What is Halo China?

Halo China Video Competition is an annual nationwide online video competition hosted by Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia in cooperation with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Jakarta.


Is there a registration fee?

No, this video competition is free of charge. All you need to do is to fill in the registration form at .


Who is eligible to enter this video competition?

All Indonesian citizens with an active National Identity Card (KTP) or passport are eligible to enter this video competition.


Can I work in a group?

Yes, you may. However, please make sure that only one team representative submit your video through the registration form. Should your video be determined as one of the winners, the prize will be sent to your team representative.


How many winners will be selected? What is the prize?

The committee will select 21 best videos, including a Fan Favorite video. Winners will receive a cash prize totalling up to IDR 175,000,000.

The videos will be assessed based on Overall Impact (50%), Creativity (20%), Substance (15%), Structure (10%), and Production (5%).


Will I get a certificate by joining this program?

The Top 50 and Lucky Prize winners will obtain a certificate for this program.


What language should my video be in?

Your video may be in Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, or English. If your video is in Bahasa Indonesia, please include accurate English subtitles. If your video is in English, please include accurate Bahasa Indonesia subtitles. If your video is in Mandarin, please include both Bahasa Indonesia and English subtitles.


What is the main theme of the video competition?

Firstly, upload your video on Google Drive. Then, go to , fill in your personal details, and attach the link to your video. Make sure the video is accessible to download by checking your sharing settings/permissions. If you have not completed your video yet, you may fill in the registration form first and upload your video at a later time (you can check your email inbox to edit your previous response).


When is the deadline to submit my video?

The deadline has been extended! All submissions are due by 23:59 WIB on Monday, August 30th 2021.
